Sefukujitsu is a specialized area of sports massage and wholistic
healing devoted to the health and wellness of the martial artist
through restorative massage techniques. This art includes the
prevention, restoration and first aid care of martial art injuries.
It teaches you how to relieve pain and increase flexibility,
regardless of how pain and stiffness started. Sefukujitsu has been
practiced for more than 1500 years in conjunction with the martial
arts. This style of massage and healing is a combination of Amma,
Shiatsu, Osteopathy, Herbal medicine and suggestive healing techniques.
Practitioners learn a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology,
pathology, diet, psychology and herbal medicine.

Sefukujitsu incorporates Japanese, Chinese and Hawaiian techniques
to restore health and pull toxins out of the body through proper
application of pressure using fingers, forearms, and elbows. The
result of Sefukujitsu treatments is proper realignment of the body
to its highest potential. Treatment of sprains, strains, sore muscles,
inflamed tendons and ligaments are routine in this art and are taught
in modules two and three. From an energy standpoint this method of
restoration is thought to strengthen, align and unblock the body’s
energetic system to bring about greater health, vitality and
well-being.

The Sefukujitsu Institute, a division of the AJJF, offers the entire
course totaling 500 hours. The course is taught in 3 modules. Each
module is 150-200 hours in length. Red Dragon Jujitsu Club brings
Black Belt Instructors from the Sefukujitsu Institute to provide
module one training here in Denver. We currently are the only
Sefukujitsu training center in the Rocky Mountain Region. We are
in the process of having this program approved by the State of
Colorado as a Private Occupational School. This approval allows
you to use these program hours towards massage training and continuing
education credits for professionals such as massage therapists,
physical therapists, and acupuncturists. Module One training begins
January 2006 and is offered on Saturday’s and Sunday’s, once per
month over a period of 8 months. Module 1 covers the basic

Graduates of Module 1 receive certificates of completion from the
Dan Zan Ryu Sefukujitsu Institute and will be able to practice
restorative massage on family and friends. Certified Massage
Therapists and Physical Therapists can use Sefukujitsu Restorative
Massage for continuing education credits and add to their toolbox of
specialized trainings to market to martial artists and other sports
related injured. We are currently working on a plan to offer all three
modules here in Denver but at this time have no formal trainings
set up. Upon completion of all three modules, you will have 500
hours of training that are required by Colorado’s local
municipalities to offer massage to paying clients. It will be your
personal responsibility to check with your state and local
governments before accepting clients.

The cost of module 1 is only $1300. In addition, you will need to
purchase books and supplies that are approximately $100. Many
students enjoy the program so much and see the results of this
therapy they quickly purchase their own massage tables. To enroll,
sign up using pay pal.

Participants of this program typically are Martial Artists,
Certified Massage Therapists, Physical Therapists, Acupuncturists
and people who are interested to provide health and healing relief
for family and friends. Upon completion of Module 1, martial artists
and non-professionals may offer Restorative Massage therapy to
non-paying students, family or anyone who has pain and stiffness
no matter how it started. Massage Therapists and Physical Therapists
can use this training as continuing education credits and can add
this unique healing system to their professional toolbox to expand
their marketing to include martial artists and other sports injured.
After completing the entire 500-hour program (all three modules) the
graduate is able to practice Restorative Massage to paying clients
subject to their state and local municipality requirements. Martial
Artists who have completed the entire program and meet state and
local requirements can offer Restorative Massage therapy to their
students and community as an additional source of income. After
completion of each module, martial artists become much more
effective in preventing injuries, relieving pain, and providing
first aid to students or fighters who have been injured.
