  1. What is Sefukujitsu?
Sefukujitsu is a specialized area of sports massage and wholistic healing devoted to the health and wellness of the martial artist through restorative massage techniques. This art includes the prevention, restoration and first aid care of martial art injuries. It teaches you how to relieve pain and increase flexibility, regardless of how pain and stiffness started. Sefukujitsu has been practiced for more than 1500 years in conjunction with the martial arts. This style of massage and healing is a combination of Amma, Shiatsu, Osteopathy, Herbal medicine and suggestive healing techniques. Practitioners learn a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, diet, psychology and herbal medicine.

  2. How does it work?
Sefukujitsu incorporates Japanese, Chinese and Hawaiian techniques to restore health and pull toxins out of the body through proper application of pressure using fingers, forearms, and elbows. The result of Sefukujitsu treatments is proper realignment of the body to its highest potential. Treatment of sprains, strains, sore muscles, inflamed tendons and ligaments are routine in this art and are taught in modules two and three. From an energy standpoint this method of restoration is thought to strengthen, align and unblock the body’s energetic system to bring about greater health, vitality and well-being.

Graduates of Module 1 receive certificates of completion from the Dan Zan Ryu Sefukujitsu Institute and will be able to practice restorative massage on family and friends.
